Use Your Health Benefits Before They Expire at the End of 2020
Your extended health care benefits grant finite funding levels for some services, and the money does not roll over from year to year. If you don’t use them for health services before the year ends, then you will forfeit benefits that you or your employer have already paid for. This loss represents a missed opportunity to manage your injury, chronic pain or stress.
Among other health services, these plans generally pay for paramedical services that include Chiropractic, Acupuncture, Osteopathy, Massage, etc. To get the most value from your plan, you should strive to use up your full benefit allotment before 2020 ends.
Many Benefits Go Unclaimed
According to the Canadian Life and Health Insurance Association, 67 percent of Canadians have access to extended health care plans. Unfortunately, most of the roughly 23 million people covered by these plans have a poor understanding of available benefits
When the Great-West Life Assurance Company reviewed claims, it identified low use of paramedical benefits. Despite widespread eligibility, only small numbers of people collected benefits for acupuncture, osteopathy, chiropractic, massage, and physiotherapy. In 2001, less than 10 percent of plan participants made claims for massage.

Acupuncture is a complementary medical practice that entails stimulating certain points on the body, most often with a needle penetrating the skin, to alleviate pain or to help treat various health conditions.
Acupuncture successfully treats conditions ranging from musculoskeletal problems (back pain, neck pain, and others) to nausea, migraine headache, anxiety, depression, insomnia, and infertility.
Tui Na Massage is one of the most popular forms of Chinese Massage today. It involves deep massage techniques that are applied over the whole body, especially the back, with many repetitions.
It's similar to acupuncture in the way it targets specific acupoints, but practitioners use fingers instead of needles to apply pressure to stimulate these points.
Chiropractic is a form of alternative medicine mostly concerned with the diagnosis and treatment of mechanical disorders of the musculoskeletal system, especially the spine.
Chiropractor can treat 1.Migraines and tension headaches, 2. Stress and anxiety, 3. Fibromyalgia, 4. Weak immune systems, 5. Flexibility

Osteopathy deals with treating the whole body rather than an injured or affected area.
As a manipulative medicine, osteopathy uses techniques such as gentle pressure, stretching, and resistance to healing ailments of the body.
Osteopathy can provide relief to many health ailments including arthritis, headaches, and back pain. However, you can have pain from your neck to your foot, and everything in between; osteopathy can help treat ankle, knee, hip, hand, and shoulder pain. The holistic medicine is known for healing tennis and golfer's elbow, too.
People often have bad posture. It can happen for several reasons from pregnancy to driving or work strain. Digestive issues might be the culprit or a sports injury. Osteopathy might help no matter what causes your back to hunch and your shoulders to slouch.
